Fit, Firm and Fired Up DVD vs. other SP DVDs

Sunday, March 10, 2013

I pre-ordered the new Spark book and got the two free DVDs. The DVDs came in yesterday's mail - yippie! I already had the cardio one, so I'll spread the Spark and give it to someone else. The Fit, Firm and Fired Up DVD is new to me. The surpirsing difference between the two DVDs is that the cardio one has a warm up and stretches, and the new one doesn't. That shocked me. Does that mean we don't need to worry about warming up before we do this new DVD?

I started Day #1 yesterday and noticed how it's much more intense than the other DVD. Because there was now warm up or stretching, it really is only 10 minutes. This DVD really pushes you to do things and I like it. I didn't really like the 28-day bbotcamp as much, because it was way too hard. I'm saving that DVD for when I've gotten further along in my cardio exercises and feel like I will have a better chance of surviving the bootcamp one.

I wonder why under fitness tracking there are no selections for the Fit, Firm and Fired Up DVD, but they are there for the other two DVDs? Has anyone else noticed it?

emoticon I agree about the 28 day bootcamp-the foot work was really tricky and I think it is a great DVD, but hard for beginners like me. I even hyper extended one of me knees doing it. So I haven't done it anymore. emoticon
Warm up is usually good, but it is just a slower form of what you are doing, so maybe they just did it and didn't mention it. I know on the ST or band video, they sometimes mention do these after you warm up the muscles. So, I wouldn't worry about it, Coach Nicole is really good at what she does and wouldn't do anything that would hurt anyone.
That is strange they haven't got a place to track it. Maybe do a search for it on the tracker. Good luck! emoticon

Actually studies have show that a warm up stretches are not nearly as effective as cool down stretches. The muscles actually respond better and stretch better after at least 20 minutes of exercise (at least that is what Chalene Johnson says in her DVDs). I believe that has a lot to do with the blood flowing through the veins and if the muscles are warm they will stretch farther. At least that is what I have noticed with my body anyways.

I pre-ordered the book. I look forward to the DVDs for something different for me to do.
