Even though I'm starting to cook more healthy choices, and be really conscious about my food, my hubby is not quite on board yet. He stills loves going to McDonalds and Wendy's, but he is more thoughtful of my new life style when he makes those choices.
So the last two nights we've cooked at home and both times I've taken our food and changed some items to make it better for me.
On Friday night, we took ground beef and Kraft Fresh Taste Four Cheese and made hamburgers. The difference in mine versus Mike's? Mine did not have a bun, had ketchup and mustard and no cheese. Difference in calories? 200 And it didn't really effect the meal at all. I did end up being a little hungry but I think that was because of the TOM.
Last night we decided to make Chicken Fajitas. We normally do a single chicken breast, fajita sauce, cheese rolled into tortillas to make burritos, or into quesadillas. The difference in what I had versus Mike? Instead of a tortilla I used lettuce and made a salad. i had guacamole and fat free sour cream with my chicken and 1/4 cup of cheese instead of 1/2 cup. Honestly, because of the sour cream and guacamole, there was not a lot of difference in the calories, but it had a lot more veggies.
I took the left over bell peppers to work today to dip in some ranch dressing as a snack. I love bell pepper but after having my gall bladder removed, it's not something I can snack on all the time.
I however, was running late and was not very prepared for lunch today. I have to probably go out but I just do not know what I want to do.
