Healthy Blog REVIEW...What did you change and are you still going?

Hi Sparkbuddies and Teddy Bears and fellow 5% Challengers!!

REMEMBER: "If something is really important to you than you will find a way
if it is not you will find an excuse!!"
You always have a choice!!!

I am here reviewing what we did last week on our challenge team...make a commitment to change something or commit to a goal that would improve our health, blog about it for a week with the goal of impacting both our own health and those of our team mates for the better!!

I chose to add in some change to my exercise, decrease the fat and increase the fiber in my diet all with the ultimate goal of making these changes permanent in my lifestyle. After 7 days of doing these I have added them to my spark goals and am realized that ongoing change requires me to remember them each day and to keep them as a priority. Writing them in my goals and having to look at them and check them off each day is what works for me!!

So I was wondering...
What goal did you commit to last week?
What changes have you made in your life?
Were you successful in the change?
Are they valuable enough to make them life style changes?
How will you sustain them for the long run?

Would love to hear from any of you have made a change and how you make/made this change for the long run and part of your life style??

    Oh, how very true this is, "If something is really important to you than you will find a way
    if it is not you will find an excuse!!" The biggest change I made was in the level of activity within the SparkChallenge while playing host and travel/tour guide to my company. Lots of great fitness minutes, photos, and memories. I'm feel a big relief in the break provided in not blogging and feeling responsible to the feedback -- this has always been more concentrated effort for those of us who live a little more on the private side, yet expect to put forth a quaity effort. You've been an exceptional trooper in this process. Praise God for all the great wealth of activity this team brings forth. Hug- hug -- Evelyn

    I committed to meal planning and did pretty good. Even on the day that I forgot about an appointment I still managed to eat well even if it was a little off plan. So, I suppose I had a pretty successful week! It's definitely got me in the right mind set for continuing to plan and think about what I eat.

    Way to go on adding the variety to your workouts!

    You opened with one of my favorite quotes! We all need to take responsibility for our choices, owning that most everything IS a choice! I'm so happy to hear that your habits are coming along well and that you are still committed to them. I have been making some progress in my dancing habit, staying focused on it is very important. It will take much more than a week to make it a habit I don't have to think so much about, but the end result will be worth it!

    I committed to exercising at least 10 minutes every day. Only missed one day so far and I found there is really no excuse to not get at least 10 minutes. I've been sick the past 3 days and still managing to get in some gentle movement.

    I've recommitted to working out more consistently. So far I'm doing good, giving myself 2 rest days in the week (Monday and Friday). I also found out in the process that you have to find balance between your fitness and nutrition, else you could hurt yourself in the long run.

    I've recommitted to the habit of eating 5-8 servings of freggies (also as many different kinds daily) daily. I was good for the first 4 months and then I slowly started backsliding.

    As you know 1200 - 1550 calories per day doesn't leave alot of room and dense calorie food doesn't leave you satisfied as long as volume style eating does.
    Freggies taste good, it's just not ever going to be my first go to choice. But I'm learning to eat for health, not necessarily pleasure or medicating purposes.
