OKAY PEOPLE THIS NEXT WEEK CHALLNGE IS NOT MY CUP OF TEA, Okay how do you stretch for 15 min a day . Okay give me pointer here. What are your guys favorite stretches. Can you recommend any for a beginner? Where do I start? My 3 positive for yesterday. I walk for a hour outside this was the first time since January it was warm enough to walk in Cleveland. I am down to 137 only 12 more pound to goal. For a side note I am 5 feet and shrinking. My last positive I got most of the house clean I still need to vacuum a little but that couldn’t be a problem,

An Effective Workout
Jack, decidedly overweight, and not at all bright, asks Doctor Mayo at Portchester Health Centre, for help in losing weight. The doctor advises Jack to run 10 miles a day for 30 days.
This, she promises, will help Jack lose as much as twenty pounds in a month.
Jack, naturally very excited, follows Doctor Mayo's advice to the letter, and, after thirty days, he is delighted to find that he has, indeed, lost twenty pounds.
Delighted, Jack 'phones Doctor Mayo and thanks her profusely for the wonderful advice which had produced such a tremendous result.
At the end of the conversation, however, he asks one last question, 'How do I get home now, Doctor, since I am some 300 miles away?'

    I stretch before each workout. It takes me between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on how long I hold each stretch. I also stretch first thing in the morning. A long, long time ago, my employer had an ergonomic specialist come in and talk to us about how to keep our bodies healthier. One of the things they recommended was stretching before you get out of bed each morning. I've done that ever since and I think it really helps with not being so stiff and achy each day.

    HI Karen,,, I just got a bunch of PT stretches from my Dr,, so I am quite set and "JUST IN TIME " !! WOOHOOOO For this weeks challenge !! (I had asked him last week,, of course with NOOOooo CLUE this would be the chal ! WOW HUH?) If you look up on stretches on SPARKS it'll come up with a BUNCH for us,, if you down for "Beginners" it'll narrow them down. Coach Nicole is GR8 at explaining them. :) If you DO NOT have them by Tues, write to me on an email,,,and I'll help you with some links.

For now moving your neck from side to side,,, taking ur lf arm,, putting it on ur right arm, over ur head,,,,and stretch to the lf side bending towards the lf side as much as you can ,,,, and count to 15 seconds is a start,,,, than grab the right arm,,, put it on ur left arm (with hand grabbing it,,,, if possible nearer to the elblow as pssible) and then bend at waiste,,,,, on side,,, like we did when we sang the song "I am the little "the little teapot here I am,,," and we'd bend one way than the other,,,, LOL as a child this was NOOoooo PROB, but as an ADULT????? I DID have NOOOO/ZERO PROBs and LOVED IT !! As an Adult ,,being in a very bad car accident,, and LIFE,,,its quite HARD for me nowl WAHHHHHHH 11111 I am sure Coach Nicole WILL aid you will A TON MORE !! And Remember Gym class????? Those type of things we did,,, many of them,,, were just stretches you can Do Now!!

    Oolong time...so silly!
I'd have to stretch 15 minutes of stretching throughout the day. I guess I'd recommend doing whatever feels good. Since you walk a lot, it would be good to give your legs some stretching. Just pick them up and stick them out there. Lol. Do your wii workouts have any stretching at the end of them? I'll join you this week and do the 15 minutes too.

    I tried Coach Nicole's videos, they are basic and effective! You can do the 3-min. Upper Body plus either the 4-min. Lower Body or the 3-min. Leg Stretches on the Mat. Nicole only holds each pose long enough to illustrate how to do it properly, but if you actually hold all the stretches in the videos for the recommended 15 seconds, and throw in a few favorite yoga poses, you have easily done a full 10 minutes. The 10 minute Stretching Routine for Runners video is excellent too, as is Stepfanie Romine's article on 13 Yoga Poses for Runners. The good news is that you can also click for six Sparkpoints for doing two videos. The bad news is that the "I'm Barry From Detroit" ad that precedes each video gets really hard to take.

    Love your jokes, I'm amazed at your weight loss in a week, my scale hardly moves ,very frustrating for me!

As for stretches there are also lots of pilates moves that work your abds and you hold , so you end up very relaxed (breathing) and stretched out!

    There are links to the stretches on the main team page down from the instructions for this weeks challenge. I think its only 10 minutes.
