Yesterday I had a momentary lapse of sanity and treated myself to a
Whopper Jr
You would have thought I was starving...gone in 60 SECONDS.
It stayed with me for HOURS.
I can't eat that stuff any more.
It was just a small hamburger...but I had indigestion all day.
{...how did I eat so much of that stuff before ???...}
Next time I want to do something stupid, I will at least make it worth my while.

    Thanks for the links about food and stress. I wish I had read that yesterday before I stopped at Taco Bell. I had trouble sleeping because of the indigestion.

    There is a difference when you feel you have to eat...something from when you want to eat something. I have been there with the cravings when I had to have something..and stopped at McDonalds. I hope you are feeling better.

    My youngest son almost the very same as you this morning - he can't eat that food anymore. He's been eating very healthy and exercising a lot, but yesterday he had apparently eaten all kinds of junk and then was sick to his stomach six times overnight - and he blames eating the junk that he can't handle anymore. He learned a tough lesson!

    It was a rough week for me, too, but nothing really made me feel bad and there were no weight repercussions. Have been eating a little lighter since I've been sick, though. Fast food only happens for me when on a trip and not able to stop very long.

    I agree!! I had a whopper jr. couple months ago and it didn't even taste good. It tasted like old liver!! (but I still ate it) I love my ground turkey burgers made on the George Foreman grill. I even eat it on cabbage leaves because I don't buy bread that often because nobody eats it but me. Like my father always said-- you can make it better (and usually cheaper) at home!!!

    Those things just sound so good sometimes, but you are right. Since we don't include those things in our diet anymore, thee tear us up when we eat them!

    Great links--thanks for those. Gee, now you have me wondering about fast food. I haven't had any recently, but I have noticed other foods I don't care for anymore. I don't order soup anymore when I go out. It has so much salt in it and it tastes really awful. Oh, and diet ginger ale is too sweet now. Not appealing at all.

I have found that when something makes you sick, you really don't crave that anymore, so you've learned something new.

    Love this posting about 'the burger'...I am a fast food junky - but, I have noticed that I don't enjoy this food as much as I use to. The chicken is greasy, the burgers are cold and the fries are limpy! I guess the fast food is just getting old as I am...Great blog - love it...Have a great upcoming week - being good to oneself!!!

    Thank you for the links. I agree with you about the fast food. I used to go to McDonald's with my grandchildren. the food there makes me sick to my stomach
after I eat it. I also could drink the sweet tea but now it like drinking sugary syrup!

Don't beat yourself up about the choice you made yesterday. Start over today! All of us

    It was gratifying to read the list of good de-stress foods is oatmeal, one of my all time favorite comfort foods... Yay!!! Also realized just how fortunate I am that I'm not tempted to go out for a burger... ever! Last night I did however indulge in half a crab sandwich and a cup of chowder at the local marina and I'm not sorry. It was excellent :)

    Thank you for that list. Good stuff! In the 'aren't you jealous dept.' every summer we go out on the lake almost outside our door and I catch wonderful coho salmon and eat lots. Not everyone has a resource like that handy.

    All my life since age 3 years I have been drinking tea. I remember my first cup of tea my Mom made for me. It was THAT good. I drink probably 3-8 cups a day. I also love salmon, tuna, and spinach salads. Actually I eat more from the de-stress group. Most of the stuff in the stressful foods I really do not like or rarely eat. And yes, I handle stress rather well. The only thing is gum. I enjoy gum. It helps to relax me and keep me away from random eating but it does upset my digestion on occasion. Good links. Thanks!

    Same thing here....ON my recent travels we stopped at burger king and oh my the greasy feeling in my mouth...yuck...needless to say on the way home we got subs. Much better on the tummy and mouth. Maybe we are getting there....it just takes a few of those off moments to make us realize we like the good stuff much better.
