Anticipation

Sunday, March 10, 2013

I am only at the start of another weight loss journey. Already I feel a little less burdened, a little more optimistic, a little more hopeful. It's like working for a long time but being encouraged by the thought of a planned and very special holiday. The anticipation is what motivates me - the thought of feeling lighter, being healthier, having more energy, sitting in chairs more comfortably - all these things are working as anticipatory motivators.

What are some of the things YOU are anticipating once you achieve your healthy lifestyle goals?

Ooh, love this! Now what positive things am I looking forward to?

    1. Skipping down the streets of Sausalito with my 2 granddaughters, each holding my hand as we giggle and have fun together!
    2. Getting back to hiking in the hills and mountains as I did when I was younger and much fitter!
    3. Buying a normal size of pants. Good bye plus size shops!
    4. Waking up and feeling light, healthy and powerful!
    5. Lying on a beach in Hawaii with my husband and turning to him to say, "I did it!"

We can do this! If we only hold on to our dreams, keep supporting each other and just take it one day at a time. emoticon

Persisitence and diligence. That is what it will take. When you think, I'll just have this one cheeseburger, or I could have the chicken salad, What choice will you make? It is at those moments that it is decided. Glenn

Just keep staying positive. Think how good you are going to feel when you reach your goals. I am so sick of my excess weight. I just want to get rid of it for good. The only way I can do that is to think positive and stay motivated. Sparkpeople has helped me a great deal. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress.
