So, the week did not quite go how I planned it, but isn’t that how it usually is?
My week started off with a bug.
Well, not started, since I encountered the bug on my way home from work Sunday, but you get my drift. I was happily pedaling along
on the last 2.5 mile stretch, and I ride through a cloud of no-see-ums! (Those tiny gnats that you don’t see until you are right in the middle of them) Cough-cough, close my mouth and breathe through my nose. Another cloud, get through, glad I have sun glasses on, as I snort a little to try and keep my nose clear. Third one and BAM! Sunglasses aren’t perfect eye protection. I am blinking furiously, trying to decide if I should stop at the next cut off, or try to make it to the end. By the time I get to the cut off, my eye is a little itchy, but it has stopped watering, and I am not blinking so fast it’s causing a strobe effect, so I decide to go the distance. I flushed with re-wetting drops once I got to my bus stop, and as soon as I got home, the contacts came out and I flushed my eye with saline solution. I did have a clump of what appeared to be grit, but that was all initially. Later that evening, my Mom told me there was something black in my eye. I checked and sure enough, a small bug! Yuck! I am just glad I didn't end up with an eye infection.
I had unexpected errands Monday and Wednesday, and a dental checkup on Tuesday that I had forgotten about. They kept me pretty much out of the house and on the road (bus) all day.
Thursday I was finally able to tackle the last area that still needed a thorough cleaning, but not go over the areas I already did. I also didn’t have a chance to work on my daily check list.
The icing on my week was a wardrobe malfunction.
I have this one skirt that has been my go too. It is a-line with an elastic waist and is made out of this soft stretchy material. It has been with me through thick and thin, literally. I had not realized how stretched out the waistband had become until the darn thing ended up around my ankles…while I was at work!
Luckily no one seemed to notice, but still VERY embarrassing.
I have another 20 minutes to go, and I am looking forward to the bike ride home, hopefully bug free.
