BUGS AND A WARDROBE MALFUNTION

Saturday, March 09, 2013

So, the week did not quite go how I planned it, but isnít that how it usually is? emoticon

My week started off with a bug. emoticon Well, not started, since I encountered the bug on my way home from work Sunday, but you get my drift. I was happily pedaling along emoticon on the last 2.5 mile stretch, and I ride through a cloud of no-see-ums! (Those tiny gnats that you donít see until you are right in the middle of them) Cough-cough, close my mouth and breathe through my nose. Another cloud, get through, glad I have sun glasses on, as I snort a little to try and keep my nose clear. Third one and BAM! Sunglasses arenít perfect eye protection. I am blinking furiously, trying to decide if I should stop at the next cut off, or try to make it to the end. By the time I get to the cut off, my eye is a little itchy, but it has stopped watering, and I am not blinking so fast itís causing a strobe effect, so I decide to go the distance. I flushed with re-wetting drops once I got to my bus stop, and as soon as I got home, the contacts came out and I flushed my eye with saline solution. I did have a clump of what appeared to be grit, but that was all initially. Later that evening, my Mom told me there was something black in my eye. I checked and sure enough, a small bug! Yuck! I am just glad I didn't end up with an eye infection. emoticon

I had unexpected errands Monday and Wednesday, and a dental checkup on Tuesday that I had forgotten about. They kept me pretty much out of the house and on the road (bus) all day. emoticon Thursday I was finally able to tackle the last area that still needed a thorough cleaning, but not go over the areas I already did. I also didnít have a chance to work on my daily check list.

The icing on my week was a wardrobe malfunction. emoticon I have this one skirt that has been my go too. It is a-line with an elastic waist and is made out of this soft stretchy material. It has been with me through thick and thin, literally. I had not realized how stretched out the waistband had become until the darn thing ended up around my anklesÖwhile I was at work! emoticon Luckily no one seemed to notice, but still VERY embarrassing.

I have another 20 minutes to go, and I am looking forward to the bike ride home, hopefully bug free.

So funny about the skirt! But I guess when you thought about it, you were very happy! Keep up the great work!

OMG - I never thought about what would happen to a bike rider if they came across a swarm of bugs!!! Yikes!

You handled it beautifully, and good news that the bug in the eye didn't end up as any big problem.
As for the skirt - I gotta tell you that all-in-all, that sounds like a really awesome thing. Skirt so big it feel right off!!

Sorry it was a bit embarrassing (I'm sure I would have been mortified) but honestly probably no one noticed. No biggie! emoticon
Sounds like you are doing great on the exercise and just want to say
    emoticon and emoticon !

Great post, that's great that your skirt is falling down (I say this in a non-creepy way!), time to go shopping, any excuse to buy something pretty!

Congratulations on losing your skirt. LOL The day a item of clothing slips is the day I will never forget. I hope I lose a skirt in the near future too. LOL. The bug in the eye was better than 1 in the troat. I hate those little bugs. It is too early in the season for any bugs here yet, but I did find an ant in the bathroom on Friday. We get them every spring so it is on the way for sure. Have another great week.
