random thoughts of the day:
-my neti pot is going to be my new biffle (Best Friend For Life). For the first time in days I CAN BREATHE. The congestion/stuffiness is not entirely gone, but it's about a gazillion times better than it was before my neti pot and I met.
-Joe and I started writing out a list of areas for improvement in our marriage. All in all... it was a decent day, and I think we have both accepted that we need a lot of work in order to fix and rebuild.
-I've decided I need to get some more tattoos. I know I want my swan on my inner left wrist when I get to my goal weight (something to symbolize the transformation from ugly duckling to beautiful swan, yada yada) and I'm thinking now I want something to accompany it. I've been thinking this quote by Tori Amos, who was my first favorite musical artist and someone I still love:
"I tell you there're pieces of me you've never seen" or perhaps the next line "Maybe she's just pieces of me you've never seen" from the song Tear In Your Hand (which also pays homage to one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman!). The song is pretty much about a breakup, BUT to me those lines symbolize being more than just what others perceive you to be, or even being more than you yourself perceive. Weight loss is a huge struggle for me, and I know getting to and maintaining my goal will require a lot of inner strength and perserverance which are qualities that I have but that don't really shine. Anyway...
I also want to get a tattoo for my beautiful boy. I like the quote "one moment's proof of heaven's existence" with his birth time and date (12.29.10/3:25) but I'm not sure where I'd locate it. I first had this idea a few months ago and put off having Joe do the tattoo (oh, if you didn't know, my hubby owns tattoo equipment and is quite inked himself) because I wasn't 100% sure. I still really love it though so I think it'll probably be the next thing I get. I'm thinking the inside of my right forearm but haven't quite sold myself on the idea of being someone with visible ink (all five of my tattoos are pretty easily covered)... but I also want it somewhere people can see it because it's in honor of my son. Conflicted, so I might just have Joe make a stencil and wear it around for a few days!
I want something literary-inspired, but don't really know what book I'd pick from as I love to read. The Princess Bride is honestly one of my favorites, so perhaps a quote from that. AND I want, someday, a back piece- I've wanted a mountain/forest scene for years!
(Can you tell I spent a lot of time tonight googling tattoo ideas? Haha)
Time for bed... so excited to be able to breathe tonight!
