Have kept busy today and it feels great after a week with a lot of sitting! Began the day volunteering at Bountiful Baskets and I enjoyed visiting with the others there. I snagged an extra bundle of asparagus for my time too! Yummy roast asparagus coming up! Afterwards I headed to do my little bit of grocery shopping and to see if I could find some new jeans. I didn't, but found a couple cute tops on sale instead. Will be fun having something new to wear this week.

Once home I got things put away and then began working my way through some small projects. Mending, planting about 80 bulbs (finally), laundry, dusting blinds, cutting up chicken for supper tonight, going through sewing patterns and I finally stopped and took a Spark break. Will tackle the actual fabric container once I'm done with this blog. What I won't use is getting given away as I'm tired of this container just taking up space.

Tonight will be our usual viewing of Lawrence Welk along with popcorn and fruit smoothies. Typically I have about 2 cups of popcorn and a smoothie. The others have a lot more popcorn.

Tomorrow Maegann and her dad were supposed to go to the "other" church, but she found out her friend from co-op (who is spending this afternoon with us) will be at our "usual" church because her sister is singing with the University choir. Naturally she wants to go to our usual church now. Fine with us...we are just trying to give her the opportunity to be away from the mean girls.

Tomorrow afternoon we have one final Bible Quizzing practice before the last quiz meet on Saturday. Going to love having that couple of hours back on Sunday's!

5% Challenge - Team Daisy

Today was our second weigh-in and unfortunately I had to post with a .3 gain. Could have been worse for a week where I did not get hardly any exercise accomplished. I plan to really step the exercise up this week though as I've got a goal to reach: 14.5 lb. by April 20! I am down about 2.5 which is great.

Our challenge this week, besides our consistent exercise minutes, is to do 10 min. of intentional stretching each day in one sitting. Definitely means I need to dust off my at-home exercise basket filled with resistance bands! I can tackle it easily at the gym 2-3x this week too.

Weighing & Measuring Challenge

I have done well so far today with knowing quantities. I must remember to measure my rice and chicken tonight though!

He has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature. (2 Peter 1:4)

Beloved, God has made us many wonderful promises. Real ones. Numerous ones. Promises of things like all-surpassing power, productivity, peace, and joy, even while occupying these jars of clay. Few of us will argue the theory, but why aren't more of us living the reality? Would we know His blessing if we saw it?

Blessing is defined by neither ease nor worldly possessions nor pain-free existence nor stock-market successes. Blessing is bowing down to receive the expressions of divine favor that in the inner recesses of the human heart make life worth the bother.

I might have told you this before but my Mom went to school with Sissy, the dancer, from Lawrence Welk. She saw her just last week at the funeral of a mutual friend from their high school years. Small world sometimes.

I've never had bok choy before. I have no idea what I am going to do with it. I keep wanting to try stir fry but when I've cooked that style in the past (many years ago) I made everything mushy instead of good like you get when you eat out. Might be time to get brave with it again.

Great day, with much progress! Good luck on the stretching! I used to stretch for about 10 every night, but I've slowly set it aside, time to get back in the groove! emoticon

I like the thought of sharing in the divine nature. I guess that is part of becoming more like Jesus!
