It's sunny with temps in the 50's today. Perfect day for a ride. Unlike the miserable ride I had home last Wednesday, during which I did not see another soul (other than those in cars), there were a lot of people out today. Lots of friendly people. We get 300 days of sunshine a year here, but it was a very grey winter. A sunny day with no wind makes people friendlier.
I rode 24.96 miles today. I guess I should have wobbled around the road a little more to pick up that extra four one-hundredths of a mile. My goal was to get to do a 25-mile ride by the end of this month. Last Saturday I rode about 21 miles, so I'm not surprised that I did a 25-mile ride today. It felt pretty good., but I'm glad I didn't try to do much more than that.
The route I usually take home from work is about 10 miles. I can also cross the river and do most of the ride on the south side of the Columbia. That's about 14 miles, and it has the advantage of protecting me from the wind. I may do that once or twice this week. Time to start adding miles!
