Reading. Coffee. Breakfast. Run. Relax. Now that's a perfect way to start a Saturday morning.

Today was the day to start running so I strapped on my kicks and grabbed my iPod. I decided to start the C25K program again but this time I would run outside instead of the treadmill. That meant blocking out all the old fears. The first of many NSV today.

Once outside, totally gorgeous out by the way, I started day one of the program. During the first running interval I came up on a woman walking her dog and I had no fear. We smiled at each other and exchanged a cheery good morning. I felt free! Yo, a NSV for sure.

I was anticipating some real struggles due to not running for a year or more. Yet, I was pleasantly surprised how well it went. My legs and feet felt great. My lungs burned only when I pushed my speed but other than that they felt great too. It didn't take long at all to recover from the running intervals as well. All NSVs!

During this run I listened to a podcast for C25K but learned that I could download the 5K101 App that allows me to listen to my own music during the program. Oh ya, I did that immediately when I got home.

I am excited! It feels great to accomplish so much and discover what progresses I've made over time.

On an unrelated note:

Here's a photo of one of my Zumba groups. I'm at the top right corner in the green tank.

* You have no idea how happy reading this makes me, given what you've said in past blogs about this. emoticon emoticon

So excited for you! Isn't amazing too see how much struggle in your life was due to fear and feeling like something would be "too much"?!

I did so much better with my running when I could do it in the great outdoors as opposed to staring at a wall. You can change your route, see awesome wildlife and find other kindred spirits out on the trail!

And I love how happy you look at Zumba!

Rock on lady!

Well done my dear emoticon . emoticon on running again, the weather is getting nicer so I will have many more outdoor runs. Lately I have been running on the treadmill (which I hated at first) but I think it has helped me increase my time and distance for sure. I am sooooo proud of you for conquering your fears. I was fearful of what others would think about me when they saw me running but after a while I could care less, hey most of them needed to be running right along with me. emoticon Have a FABULOUS weekend. emoticon emoticon

It's amazing how different trendmill and outdoor training are. Congrats on the C25K goal. You can make that happen!
