Springing forward

Saturday, March 09, 2013

Once again we have this insane clock thing to do. It's time to change the clocks forward. We lose out on an hour of sleep and disrupt our internal clocks again. In a time of electricity, it seems insane, but we still do it. I actually enjoyed living in AZ for this one reason, no changing the clocks. No disruption of schedules, no need to "find" more sunshine, no one was late for work because of any change.

I do not live in AZ anymore, so I have to align myself to the clock "norm" of the minute.

Last night I started changing clocks so that I have all weekend to get used to the change. I changed all the clocks that have to be changed manually. It made my husband think, is it that late already? Yep, on tomorrow's time it will be.

I do love daylight savings time. I enjoy the later sunlight, but it's probably because I'm in such a northern climate that I'd love it all winter long. Summer could easily be in "standard" time because I don't really need 10 pm sunshine, it's up late enough on it's own.

It's just too bad we can't live my the sun instead of some man made clock. Dang those railroads moving us farther and faster making us need time zones.

So get used to the new time and do your best to change up your internal clock to match the man made one that makes us go at certain times. I hope you already started last night or earlier if you could, but take all weekend to get to your Monday time!

The good news is that my living room clock never got set from Fall and we'd just been looking at it and adjusting it in our minds. Now its right again! LOL. Seriously though, it really does mess with our internal clocks! I did enjoy the "extra hour" of sunlight this evening at the track though. Gotta make the best out of losing that hour of sleep! emoticon

I do like the sun in the afternoon when I get home from work but it is hard those first few days after the change!
Oh well, if only the snow would melt now and Spring would get here! emoticon

Way to plan ahead. I'm in Arizona over the winter, so as you know - we don't have to deal with it. But, when I go back home - it will catch up with me. Have a great weekend!

Changing all my clocks over is a pain in the tush...thank goodness my computer
goes over automatically, I usually change over on Saturday evening...It is easy to see
who forgets this little chore by the number of folks who are late coming to a church service.

Have a happy day... emoticon

While the whole DST system seems weird to me, I'm really looking forward to it being light out later. Summer, here we come!!!
