A two piece bathing suit?

Saturday, March 09, 2013

The last time I wore a bikini, I couldn't have been older then 8 years old. I'm pretty sure the only reason I got it was because it looked like a bra and I wanted to be a big girl. Plus it had sunflowers all over it and I was obsessed with sunflowers at this point. And apparently this bathing suit because I still remember it 16 years later.

Anyway, last night I was out for my cousin's birthday. There was about 11 of my cousins (and that's not even half!) and a few friends of the family. Everyone in our party, and I mean everyone, commented at some point in the night about how skinny I am! It was a big topic of conversation considering that my dad is overweight, my cousin's (who's birthday we're celebrating) lost 50 pounds, and many people in my family have big bones and love for food, particularly, my mother's food.

I was talking to my one female cousin at one point in the night about how I plan on getting my belly-button pierced as my weight-loss reward. And she's going to come with me and get hers done! Then I said that next summer, I wanted to buy a bikini. She said, "you can wear one now." And she's totally right! So this morning I bought a super cute, retro styled, nautical themed bikini! And I cannot wait for it to come in so I can wear when I go to Florida at the end of the month.
