What is your true motivation? This is the assignment for today.
As I pondered the question above, I realized that I had a multitude of reasons for wanting to lose weight. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. I often have about 25 lbs that I would like to lose (which I have lost and gained several times). My usual motivator is that I want to look and feel good about myself. Also, my daughter is getting married next year and there will be lots of photos. I recently went on a vacation and when I saw the photos I thought, is that how I really look? They say the camera doesn't lie! Most importantly we have a very serious history of heart attacks in my family, and it is my hope that if I eat right and exercise, I will be able avoid this health issue.
For me, the Sparkpeople plan is all about a lifestyle change. Therefore, although I will reach my goal weight, it is my intention to make this a permanent change and so maintaining or continuously improving my health will be a constant work in progress!
