just got a big slap in the face wake up call

Here I am at work and I was thinking about the color run I have coming up in June. I've been walking at home but as out of shape as I am I know I'm going to have to do more. I decided I was walk from my office on the 2nd floor to the 8th floor of the hospital. Well it wasn't easy but it didn't kill me. Afterwards I thought I would go check my weight since I'm about to get serious. That's when the slap in the face happened... I weigh more than I ever have in my entire life. I will NOT weigh over 300 so it's definitely time to do something!!!

    THEN START RIGHT NOW! DON'T EVEN WAIT FOR TOMORROW. YOU CAN DO THIS. I TOO, WILL NEVER HIT 300 - AGAIN. I STARTED THIS AT 354 AND AM NOW 219. I HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO BUT I LOOK AT IT IN INCREMENTS OF 10%. THAT IS EASIER FOR ME TO ATTAIN. DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU BUT BE SURE TO KEEP IT HEALTHY.

    I agree with the other posters. At the doctor's you might still be deemed "as healthy as a horse"; but if that is the case, think of living healthy as a way of preventing any issues from happening.
Pick a nutrition plan you can live with for the rest of your life. I think that is so important. We run into trouble when we go gung-ho on a DIET only to find we can't sustain it. I have done this so many times, it isn't funny - three weeks of perfection only to run off the rails and regain everything.
Pick a key obstacle to maintaining a healthy weight and try to build a positive habit to counteract that. Once you feel comfortable with the new habit, pick another obstacle, etc. I am a night grazer. I now brush my teeth right after dinner dishes are done. Seems to work for me. Psychologically, I think I am done eating for the night. I am also reading up on the concept and practice of mindful eating to strengthen my resolve against my grazing urge.
You have it in you to make the best choices for your health and well being. Good luck!

  We've all had our ah,ha moments and it happen to me when I could no longer fit into my favorite outfit. That was no fun and it's not as easy, taking the weight off as it is putting it on. If it doesn't kill you, it'll make you stronger and thinner! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

  Yes the best advice I can give you is to go to your doctor for a complete physical before you start anything....it will help you tremendously. Start slow and work your way up to your goal
