Fortune Cookie Wisdom

Saturday, March 09, 2013

Took My Husband out for sushi tonight because he deserved it, and here is what my uneaten fortune cookie told me..............

"Life enrich from seeking,
not from sitting."

I chuckled and showed it to Jeff. He chuckled too. We both know that I have been off track lately. We both know that I am earnestly seeking to improve my prayer life and build a relationship not just with Jesus but with God the Father. I had pondered earlier in the day about getting rid of the scale and returning to a focus on repairing the temple of the Holy Spirit. Jeff looked at me and I at him and we both decided that God can talk even through a fortune cookie.

It is official today that I had a good day. I ate no wheat and no sugar. I felt calm and relaxed and even put a part of my lunch back in the fridge because I felt satisfied with less. I walked on the treadmill this afternoon and FINALLY made kale chips for the first time. TOO much salt. Just the right amount of garlic, though. Both dogs decided they liked them but one really only just crumbled it up and made a mess and then promptly asked for more. LOL

Today was a good day most certainly. I even spoke kindly to myself for the first time in days.

Bye! emoticon

What a beautiful day you had! emoticon I'm so very happy for you! Taking such good care of yourself!!!

I did have to laugh at the fur baby and kale story. Mine had his fill of his baby carrots but did not want to stop. He took one and dug in the love seat trying to find a good hiding spot. Not finding one, he headed off to the sun room to look for THE perfect spot. Without finding it, he headed back across the living room and toward the dining room. I intercepted him AND the baby carrot and took it away. I did not want a carrot rotting some place unknown to me! We have PLENTY of baby carrots. Boy was he mad at me for throwing that spit covered carrot in the trash! LOL!!!! Fur babies ... they are such a treasure!

Have a wonderful Saturday, sweet Julie!! emoticon

Yes, God can indeed use fortune cookies!

I'm so glad you were nice to yourself today. You can't depend on others to be nice, if you're not nice yourself.

Dogs are so funny. One of the Shis-Tzus I'm watching takes treats from me like she has been starving all day, then walks around with it in her mouth looking for the best place to hide it. The other takes it, then lays it on the floor and rolls on it.

I'm sure there's a lesson in there, but I'm too tired to think of what it could be.

Ummm kale chips? I haven't tried making them yet. Were they a lot of trouble to make?
