Anything else to share with my team:

Finished my 1st week of work at my new job. Time flies as there's lots to do. We had a sad week. DD & I had a stray kitty who seemed to have adopted us. It was hanging out on our porch; we were feeding it and took it to the vet because it seemed to have eye problems. Turned out the poor kitty was blind. That meant we were probably going to have to keep her (already have 2 rescued cats and wasn't looking to add more but..) After testing we found out that she had leukemia so we had to put her to sleep. It was sooo sad! DD & I were just sobbing. At least she had a good week and was cared for at the end (we stayed with her while they put her to sleep.)

The poor, poor kitty. I'm so glad it found you two. At least it left this world knowing it was loved.

So sad.... I fostered for our local shelter for years, so I am, sadly, all too familiar with that outcome. You are right in that the last few days of kitty's life were with loving people who cared for him and allowed him to die peacefully and without suffering.

I had to put my sweet little dog down 6 weeks ago, and it was the saddest thing. I tried to sing her "over the bridge", but my voice failed me becasue I was sobbing. I bet it was not one bit easier with your sweet little cat. Bless you for making her last days good.

Congratulations on managing through your first week at the new job. So many changes must have your brain wanting to go in so many new directions as you get settled in.

Oh my . . . what a sad day, indeed. Animals so know how to tug at our heart strings. You did a very brave and wonderful deed. Hug, hug -- Evelyn
