I really should be more specific....

Friday, March 08, 2013

So, I had been thinking that now we are settled in, I have been applying for jobs online, we got our new bank account set up and it has stopped snowing...I wanted to get out and walk more.

I should have been specific as to the conditions of said walk.

Hopped in the car this morning to run by the bank and stop off at the store. It was above freezing and while I was warming up the car (the car, btw, hates to run if its under 80 degrees out) and the car dies. It doesn't idle by itself very well until the engine temp comes up so I started it and it chugged like it was out of gas...hmmmm. The gas light was not on and it wasn't on when we got home yesterday, but thats how it was acting, so *bright idea* lets go walk the mile and a half to the gas station!
Needless to say, we got lost and after 2 miles, we found a service station...that doesn't sell gas! He said there was a station about a half mile away. This is after about an hour of walking in/around the snow and meltwater and I was getting hungry so we stopped at a bar and grill for something to eat and then walked the rest of the way to the gas station and called a cab!
As soon as we got home, before putting the gas into the tank, my beau jumps in the car and the SOB starts! Without adding gas!

My younger son is going to come tomorrow to look at it and I am just hoping it will last until I get a job and can get a new car. At this point, I would settle for a bicycle!

Although the walk was tougher than I anticipated (I don't have boots so I had wet feet), I wanted and NEEDED to get out there, I would have preferred that it was not because the car was acting up and shooting my stress levels through the roof!

ARGH!

oh the dreaded snow/snow melt and wet feet.
so understand. I hope your car lives on until you can get a different one.
Or the job you get is close to home!
