The scale went up!

I knew it was coming and I was mentally preparing myself, but it still "plays" with the mind...the numbers in the scale went up. Not by much, a little over 2 lbs., but still.

I've been dedicated to my Insanity workouts and am starting to see some nice muscle development in my arms, my abs are flatter, my legs are trimmer and I think my butt is a tad higher. emoticon I know, I know, it's said that muscle weighs more than fat, but as I said before it still plays with the mind.

I'm switching workouts so I have the pure cardio and cardio abs tomorrow. I don't want to fall asleep in church on Sunday!!! emoticon

    When you exercise, your muscles put up more glycogen, that's why you can gain a bit of weight simply by exercising. The glycogen holds water weight, but it's good water weight, not like sodium causes. Don't worry, those muscles will be making the fat cells cry soon enough!

    I'm sure you look great and feel strong - enjoy!

    My weight training goes well too and I see similar results.
    At first I was afraid to run less and skip stationary biking, and do the weight lifting instead, but it was worth it.

    The truth is that it can be a mental disappointment even though we know we have done nothing wrong! Focus on all the great things you've noticed on your body. Arm definition, flatter abs, trimmer legs mean so much more than just a number on a machine, don't they?

    How are your meaurements? Muscles may weigh more but they take up less space - maybe you can find something to smile about there!

    I know, I know even though you mentally "prepare" it's still a bummer to see the scale go up. So much has to do with history and always giving the scale so much power. Take the power away from the scale.....take the power back and focus on how you feel and how things fit. I would love to have the muscle.....and weigh more if need be. Muscle is so attractive.
    So, I say not to got this!
