I really wasn't feeling it this morning to do my workout. My blood sugar was doing loop de loops but, my husband said "try walking and see if you'll feel better." With the support and encouragement and a willingness to feel less like crap I grabbed the ever wonderful backup workout Leslie Sansone's 3 mile walk. I wobbled along the first 15 minutes or so but after the first mile I was getting into it and getting a lot more lively. By 30 minutes in I was jogging along. That came to abrupt end when I started shaking and my blood sugar nose dived. I ate some blackberries and yogurt and decided to be a couch potato until the pharmacy was open.
Today makes five months that I've been on Metformin. While, I hate the fact I have to take medication I've seen some pretty serious benefits from it...such as me losing weight. Before I was taking it I busted my tail for no results. So, I've got to give the stuff some credit. Anyhow, I went from insurance to cash with the pharmacy and somehow they got this idea not to fill my meds because of it (despite the fact I called a day prior to my arrival asking for said medications, saying I am now paying cash and asking the cost). After much headache and unneeded commentary on their part I finally got my medication after waiting nearly three hours and probably making them dislike me because I was feeling worst and worst and getting pretty a-hole-ish. This was at noon. I'm used to taking my first pill at 7:30am. I've felt like serious dookie today! As the smart mouth at the pharmacy said "I should have got it before I ran out" but, I can't buy it if I didn't have the money until today.
I'm still having a hard time reaching my minimum goals. I am working on the calories trying to get up to 1300 but, now I'm slipping on protien and fat. Hard to do the fat though. I was always told how bad it was for you but, it's not bad. The real evil is sugar. I'm not undereating despite my not reaching my goals.
That was dinner last night. Chickpea cutlet, steamed broccoli (because the protien increases when cooked), yellow hominy, and fried cabbage. Very well balanced to if I might say so...got your starchy grain, veggie, veggie, and meat like substance. It was plenty of food even NoNo got him some bites. That poor little dog has probably gained 5 pounds since I started eating less. He has a little hoodie he wears and it's getting pretty tight. If I ever find my great deal treadmill (it's out there I know it is) maybe I'll have to teach him about cardio and how to walk on it.
