When it Rains it Pours

Friday, March 08, 2013

It's raining, It's pouring...........Life is so crazy right now.

First as you all know the sequestration has had profound effect on my families financial situation and added a lot of stress for my husband and I.
Tuesday night my 10 year old slipped at the high school swimming pool locker room and broke his arm. Unfortunaly he is going to need surgery next Tuesday. Also, got a call a few days ago from my 7 year old's teacher requesting holding him back next year. Ugg.....can you say stress!

I am looking for the silver linings these days. Finances are so tight and the broken arm isn't helping, so juicing has been off. However, I have still been doing well with my eating. I have been trying to get in as many fruits and veggies as possible. Started buying frozen fruit at aldis to make smoothies (of course throwing in greens each time). Been trying out some yummy recipes from the happy herbivore cookbook I bought at the beginning of the year. I fast at least two days a week until dinner.
My one down fall is the coffee habit has returned. Also, this week my calorie count has been a bit higher (some stress eating I think), but it has been of "healthy" foods. I am trying to remember that even "healthy" blueberry muffins have calories. Not gonna stress about the scale through. It is what it is.

Looking for the rainbow!

I'm sure you feel bad about the set back but my opinion it is a good age to set this in motion. When I was a youngester, oh so many years,we had a brother and sister in the same class, he always was somewhat below average in class but turned out to be Very successful. Another example was the Supertendents son, he was in one of our sons class and was and still is a good friend, just turned ot to be the right decision. I trust the school staff on there recommendations. FYI, we also had 2 G K's who were advanced, didn't get their smarts from me, that can be challenging, they are bright but small compared to classmates. It will work out.

I will be praying for you and your family. I am glad to hear that you have found some healthy alternatives and are still doing your best to stay on track. Hopefully things will turn around soon. Hang in there.
