It's been really easy so far. I like that it gives me some structure-- I can't grab anything and shove it in my mouth. I have also been careful about sweets and other junk. I figure why go vegan as a way to eat healthier if I just down chips and soda and cookies? It's definitely helped me to eat more fruit and veg, but I've also had days of just going with a veggie burger and fries. The food tracking helps, also. I'm down 2 pounds!
I think the moments it will be hard include when visiting friends. For example, we're going to a friend's kid's b'day party Sunday. She was all sad, "oh, you won't be able to try the cake!" (she is making a special lemon olive oil cake which does sound amazing.)
Other little things are-- I was making the boys some cheesy pasta and had to stop myself from licking my fingers! I don't believe in being a total perfectionist hard ass about it but I figure if I'm doing this 30 day challenge, I may as well REALLY do it for at least the 30 days.
I also started listening to her podcast as a way to stay focused and inspired.
I also make myself read and watch the daily messages/videos related to the challenge. They have great tips and are very supportive in how to take the steps to transition to a different way of eating. She emphasizes that our habits are so ingrained, it can seem really hard, but habits can change.
