Go Dawggies Go!!!!

I fell behind on blogging this week. emoticon

I ran on the treadmill three times this past week.

Each time I went for 3.1 miles - a little further each time counting cool down

I started tracking my time for the 3.1 and was able to better my time by about one minute each run. Woo Hoo!
On Wednesday, after my workout and into Thursday, I had a what I will call a "tickle" in my knee which is troublesome.

I am slowing down until my knee recovers. I am able to do other exercise, walking, biking, etc. So, I would appreciate any advise about my knee.

My first scheduled 5K is on April 27th. Currently, I plan on strengthening my knees this month, continuing with the treadmill and starting to walk /run outside in April.

PS I am very motivated and thrilled to be a SUDS team member for the Winter into Spring challenge. We are the BEST!

    Good for you! I don't run much because of my knees and arthritis. But if you can do it, go, girl! But do listen to your body.

    I would suggest protecting it with something like an ace knee brace until you can get in to the doctor.

    I agree with Diane. See your Dr just to be sure nothing is injured and that rest is all it needs.

    HI hon,, PLZ DO AND SEE your Dr AT ONCE !! Only cos we had a Dawggie a few yrs ago who started out with something like that who "ignored" it and continued to run,,,and RUINED her knee,,,,ended up in HORRIBLE pain,, had to STOP running,,, it was a very bad situation. Than she got very discouraged about the losing weight etc. Need I say more?

SO PLEASE Do at least see the Dr,,,, that should ALWAYS be the first advice. Than go from there. This coming weeks challenge,,, is it something you do before running? STRETCHING !! WOOHOOO !! Its something I was ALWAYS taught in gymnastics that was a MUST even as I was told "before you even hop on your bike for a short ride !" and she MEANT IT !!!! So yeah that carries onward. Stretching is SOOO IMPORTANT before ALL WE DO !! PLZ look at the video's there with it,,, and also on SPARKS For RUNNING Stretching,,, and have the PROPER Ones, but UNTIL you SEE the Dr, PLEASE ONLY DO Walking. That's so MUCH better than hurting urself and its STILL SOMETHING worthwhile. :)

I'd HATE to read later on,,, ur seriously hurt. :) WE CARE WAY TO MUCH for this !! And it is REALLY A MUST.

    I'm not sure what to do about the knee, but my daughter has always said that running on the treadmill is always harder on the body than running outdoors. Good luck.
