I woke up weighing 159 this morning!!!! I haven't seen the 150's in awhile, WELCOME HOME GIRL! I kept telling myself I was gonna drop weight before I got pregnant. Well here it is Julie, Drop it! Amazing how just shaving off 200 calories a night can make such a difference. I like personal challenges. My personal challenge of the week was not giving into my period. I mean I did, for 1 day. But not for my whole period, it's an excuse that I can control if I put my mind to it. Instead of eating the whole contents of the house, try to pinpoint what I want and eat that. Get it out of my system and move my butt to bed at a decent time. Sleep is so important! Plus my other personal challenge this week was getting my 10k steps everyday and so far so good! Maybe I should start making 2 challenges each week for myself!
This new part of the book I have been reading is about how when ppl stopped drinking higher fat milks and went to 1% or skim the industry started tricking us and putting more milk fat in all of our other foods. Where cheese never had to be there before. But they needed to do something with all that milk fat not being used. Awesome ideas such as cheeseburger hamburger helper and extra cheese pizza and sticking cheese into the crust of pizza and the list goes on and on. This is why peoples consumption has risen so much since the 70's. It's in everything and it has so much fat in it. The way they produce it it looks clear when it cools and we think it's not as bad as it actually is. They were talking about, philly cheese cream was not doing good so they needed a spokes person and got Paula Dean. So her big gimmick was using cream cheese in all these recipes. UGH no wonder she became diabetic. Very interesting stuff.
