I have been away from Spark People for a long time. I have been back and forth from no diet, to thinking of doing Paleo type eating, to Weight Watchers and myfitnesspal.com. Throughout all of this, I have pretty much have reached a plateau with my weight and have been bouncing between the same five pound of weight for almost six months. It is beyond frustrating. So here I am. . . I have decided to come back to Spark People. I think the community here is beyond compare and I need all the information and support this sight offers to finally reach my goal weight.
I am currently getting ready to run my fourth 1/2 marathon and am very excited about that. I haven't been very good about working out, but am getting back to it starting tomorrow. I have also decided, against my my better judgement, that I am going to run in my first full marathon this fall. I have signed up for it so now I have to get ready for it. The distance is beyond intimidating, but I know that I can do it. Three years ago I didn't think I could ever run a 5K, let alone a 1/2 marathon, but I did it. Now I just need to keep up the positive attitude.
I have also in the meantime decided to go back to school. I currently have my Associates Degree in Nursing, and am now working towards my Bachelor's and finally my Master's degree to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. So being healthy and staying that way is an important goal for me, not only so I can be a good example for my patients, but my children as well.
