Welcoming Advice

Thursday, March 07, 2013

Today I do not have any funny stories, or sage words of advice. I do have a question: has anyone reading this found a way to make meditation a daily practice? If you have, what steps did you take to do so? I welcome any recommendations or advice offered.

I have a reminder set in my iCloud for the same time every day, this blocks it off from me scheduling anything else during my quiet time.

I find it easiest to meditate first thing in the morning. I start with a list of what I am thankful for (including waking up each day). Same as the exercise streaks count with just 10 minutes 5-10 minutes of meditation on a regular basis can lead to great things. Best wishes on finding what works for you and your schedule. emoticon

That is one thing that I have failed to master. My mind wonders every time I think of meditation. But I think sitting in a quite place and focusing on calming your thoughts would be a start. ( working it).

I use my calendar reminders on my phone to remind me to track food and to exercise. When they become a habit, I can take the reminders off. I have them set to alert me, too, so I can't ignore them! This has helped me in so many different areas! Maybe you have some way of setting up an alert to remind you it's time to meditate.
