Day 6 - protein going well

Thursday, March 07, 2013

Here I am on Day 6 of this challenge and I have managed to meet my protein goal almost everyday. Looking at my food tracker today I have met every category so far except calories(will need to find another 80 calories somewhere), fat (which is often on the low side), and my fiber is a little low since I'm not eating my regular cereal right now (will have to figure out how to bring this up).
I was up early (4:30AM) this morning so read my email, exercised, had a shower, got dressed for work, had breakfast and fixed lunch to take to work. I was just ready to walk out the door when the phone rang. It was work saying with the weather they didn't think it would be busy today so I could stay home and make a snowman. It has been snowing off and on all day and the wind has been howling but really no accumulation yet because the temp is a little above freezing. We are supposed to get some accumulation tonight when it gets colder but the storm has also moved so it won't be as much as they were expecting. Anyway I then changed out of my work clothes and into something warmer and more comfortable, read the paper, washed dishes, did 2 loads of wash, and did some ironing.

I was meeting my calorie goals but falling short on protein and DD2, a RD, suggested that I needed to get the protein and suggested Greek Yogurt. I tried the 0% fat plain and vanilla flavored and it has been great. I mix fruit with it and the vanilla flavored is as good as pudding. I am getting all my protein now.

Getting enough protein has always been a problem for me. Not sure how you do it.

How lucky can you get to have work call you up and tell you to stay home. My boss, who's a workaholic, couldn't understand why I didn't show up for work once when the county had closed the roads. As much as I love my job, there are times when I would love to stay home.

Have a great day doing what you want today.

Sounds like you're making great progress. I often have trouble with my fiber intake...if you get any great ideas, I'd love to hear them! Hugs, Jeannie emoticon
