Week 8: Weigh in and The Benefits of Tracking
Thursday, March 07, 2013
So, I lost 1.6 lbs this week! Bringing my weight loss total to 7lbs but if I go back to October when I first started trying to lose weight, I have lost 12 lbs!!!!!!!
What is it? In Weight Watchers everything you eat or drink has a number of pointsplus that is calculated based on the nutritional value of the food. Depending on your current weight, height, and the amount of weight you want to lose, you are given a daily pointsplus limit for how many pointsplus you can eat each day. You then write down what you have eaten and the amount of points you used and this will give you a remamining balance for the day. You are also given an extra 49 points per week. These are good for when you have used your daily points but still feel hungry or that weekend party, dinner out etc. You can also earn extra points through activity.
1) Helps you make good food choices
2) Helps you to stay accountable
3) Helps you to realize which foods are or aren't working for you.
4) For some people, when they track, they lose twice the weight that they would have if they didn't track.
My Plan this week is to pre-plan our dinners. This will help me to know what I need to buy for groceries. I will know what my dinner points will be for the day so I can plan the rest of the day's points around that. I have done this in the past and when I looked back through my trackers, I realized this was when I lost the most weight. I have Weight Watchers Cookbooks that I plean my meals from. I also find WW recipes on Pinterest and of course the Weight Watchers website.
