Focusing on What I've Gained -- Day #6

Do I need any advice or motivation?

The big cloud over my head is the not-so-little-voice in my head saying, "yeah, you've tried all this before...and yeah, maybe you'll lose a little weight...but it won't last." I have such a long history of failure. I guess I need some advice about combatting that negativity.

    you have to take it one day at a time. the past can't be changed

    I have to keep it simple, probably because if I think too much I get confused and end up going around in circles. So as soon as a negative thought enters, I make it go away. It takes practice, but it is doable. So to keep it going I focus straight ahead and let my goal pull me forward. All that other stuff that has led to all my past failures is in the trash bin, just like clicking on and dragging the spam on my computer to that little garbage can.

    Keep it simple. Erase negativity from your brain. Record only positive thoughts and comments. In time it becomes permanent. Make a your new day a new adventure!! I started with baby steps. Rome did not get built overnight. You CAN and WILL do this!! Hugs, Moni

    Know that you will take 3 steps forward, one step back and prepare for that.
    The collages of positive images to look at are helpful to me. Keep your eye on the prize -- not the little set backs -- like with investing your money.

    Look at past failures as stepping stones/learning experiences. Evaluate what helped you succeed and then what derailed you...I too have had setbacks on this journey. This is my third time getting involved on Sparkpeople. I know I can succeed and have figured out what I did wrong in the past and choose to avoid those obstacles and refuse to live a life of obesity. We can do this!!!!!
