Push That Tush - Perfectly Real

Thursday, March 07, 2013

And that goes for ourselves as well.

Sometimes echoes of the negative talk I used to hear, replay in my head.
I remind myself that people with flawed personalities
look to tear down others, in the hopes of feeling better about themselves.

I was watching a cute little film the other day
The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
about of group of misfit high school kids that connect with each other.
The best line: "Welcome to the land of broken toys".
You didn't want to be part of the perfect people...
You identified with the misfits who were real.
They were genuine, caring, supportive, and perfect in their imperfections.

Everyone struggles with something
How we handle our own imperfections and accept ourselves
is a lifelong learning process.

Here's to being REAL

Once again, I'm working on pushing the exercise...need more attitude.
The lentil soup came out great yesterday...definitely a new favorite.
I used Alton Brown's Lentil Soup recipe, but I added skinless chicken thighs, 3 stalks of celery and 3 carrots, and I added a tiny bit of ginger and chili powder for a little heat (.25 tsp each).

One mistake...a couple of my cans of chicken broth were not low sodium.
But I didn't add any additional it wasn't bad...
just not as low sodium as I hoped for.

Make it a great day...thanks for your support...Be Amazing today

  Hi Sheryl.........
Once again, you have said this so well. Give me a "REAL" person anyday. I find that as I have gotten older, I have even less time for people who are NOT "REAL." Phoniness has always set my last nerve on edge!!!!!
emoticon for another wonderful blog.

Your blog touched my heart and made my eyes go swimming for a bit. I've always felt myself to be an earthbound misfit~ that this world is truly not my home. Makes it a challenge to be original with so much pressure for conformity in our society. Thanks for sharing another thought~provoking, heart~moving blog, Sher~ *hugs* BB~ emoticon emoticon emoticon

Love the butterfly picture and quote. They look so peaceful. And about the salt - it's a much bigger problem for me than sugar and it's really dangerous! That's what I need to work on. Have a super day!

I hope that you get that push that you need in order to get the exercise you want. Several on our team are working on that. I hope you can find a way.
Start with a little at a time, don't try adding an hour a day overnight. Add 10 minutes.

I'm lacking energy today. I wouldn't mind being the red and black butterfly you posted. I'm not sure about my flying ability today though.

Wait... you are not perfect??? Gee I don't know if I can still be friends with you... I was so sure you were perfect... LOL... OK, I actually haven't seen your faults... because I do not think that having a weight problem is a fault. It is a personal issue, a personal problem, but not a fault. Of course, I do know you - and I - have faults, this is sort of tongue in cheek, but I really do not consider being overweight a fault.

Hope you have enough soup for today!

    Will check the movie out.
I am going to try this version of lentil soup.
I usually make it with rice and lots of tomatoes (it turns out to be a meal).
Have a great day.

Sounds like a good movie. It's interesting how many people think that they make themselves look better by diminishing someone else. Doesn't even really work. Your soup sounds delicious and I'm going to try out the recipe. Thank you!
