I will answer that question for myself.
Red light foods are foods that make me sick (food intolerances). They have NO place in my home or life. Period.
Green Light foods are unprocessed foods like fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and lean proteins. They don't make me sick unless the fish is farm-raised on soy or the beef is grain fed instead of grass fed.
Sometimes I can eat small amounts of some grains (quinoa, amaranth, oatmeal) without it triggering an immediate reaction. If I cross a threshold, I get congested or worse (can lead to asthma).
Lentils and beans fall into this category. To be completely congestion free I have to avoid them and all grains. Nuts, too and dairy. But I am struggling with this because it is probably not healthy to eliminate whole food groups forever.
The foods that I can sometimes tolerate without an immediate penalty (reaction) are my yellow light foods. They are foods that I must approach with caution.
I will continue working on my list of yellow light foods. I did a kitchen makeover and no longer have red light foods in my house, but the green light foods are in abundance.
My next step is to have them washed, prepared adn ready to go at a moment's notice when hunger attacks.
My home is a safe haven from the food war zone (aka modern society: fake foods, sneaky food industry processed junk masquerading as "health food", over- adulterated with food additives and chemicals, wrongly raised on hormones and antibiotics meats and fish and poultry, genetically altered frankenfoods).
There ! they are named and now will be avoided!
