I have been following a new healthy eating plan suggested by my chiropractor. It is called Maximzied Living. We had a 30-day challenge to see how much weight we could lose. So far I have lost 8 pounds. I haven't been able to do the exercises, as I have been diagnosed with a sluggish heart. I am not sure exactly what this means, but I am not doing too much exercise, except walking when I can. I received a call from my cardiologist the other day, and I have an appointment for Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. I was told to bring all my medication so that the doctor can see what I have been taking. I am going to take not only my prescribed medication, but the vitamins I have been using as well. I have a friend at my church who goes to the same cardiologist, and she told me that he is very thorough. I am sure he will put me through a battery of tests. Hopefully I will get some answers.
I have been very busy over the last few days, as aunt is coming for a visit. She is my birth-mother's sister-in-law, and she and her niece made a trip all the way here just so that she could meet me. She is 80 years old. I am so looking forward to meeting her. She is staying with my birth cousin who lives nearby. She called me tonight to let me know she arrived safely. She said the roads were good all the way. She and my cousin are coming to pick me up tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m., and we are going to go back to my cousins and spend some time there. We don't know what we will be doing, but we are going to spend the whole day together. I put together a photo album of some shots of me when I was little to when I graduated from high school, when I got married and some pictures of my children and their children. She has been so good to me. She sent me a lot of pictures of my family. I did not know what my birth father looked like until she sent me a picture. She even sent me a picture of my parents' wedding. I have a brother and two sisters that I have never met. I am hoping they will give me a chance to get to know them. They want me to have a DNA test to prove I am their sister. We'll see how things work out in that regard. After I spend some time with my aunt I am planning on contacting my siblings again and see if we can arrange to share the cost of the DNA test. I am willing to do it, I just can't afford to pay for all of it. I am taking it one day at a time, although at 67, I think I would like to move things along a little quicker.
I am so looking forward to spending the day with my aunt tomorrow. We have spent a lot of time talking on the phone, but I am so excited to get to meet her.
I'll blog again when I find out some of the results of my visit with the cardiologist.
