This is Bob, Ev's other half. We were getting ready to go to Gainesville for her appointment with her therapist when she tripped on the hose and feel on the cement in the carport. She hit so hard, her head bounced off the cement and hit a second time. She also landed on her side. She didn't answer me for some seconds so I think she may have been out. Before we could walk to the truck, she had two lumps on her head and her hip really hurt. After I helped her into the truck, I went back into the house and got a pain pill for her. It relieved her head pain, but not the hip. Her doctor and the attending that checks her each visit felt she should go to the hospital. They were concerned about two things. Her vision was off and she had trouble following the doctor's finger back and forth and up and down. She told him before the pain pill the pain was coming around into her right eye. They were also concerned about her hip and feel she may have fractured it. By now most of you know how stubborn she can be. She refused going to the hospital. She promised me if things weren't better tomorrow she would let me take her. She was also nauseous and was afraid to eat anything and kept a bag in her hands. I wouldn't let her go to sleep all afternoon.
I doubt she'll be around much these next few days. I'm suspecting she isn't going to feel much better tomorrow and we'll end up at the hospital. She really should have gone as soon as it happened but she thought it more important to see her therapist as he isn't going to be around very much longer. He's going into private practice. plus she only sees him every six weeks. She said she needed her meds and would have to see him before he could prescribe them for her.
She really needs all of the prayers and good thoughts you can send this way. I want to thank all of you for being her friends. Her doctor brought up her blog today and saw some of the responses to the entries. He mentioned he thought this was a close knit concerned community. Ev told him it doesn't get any better.
