5.) What can I improve upon?

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

Ok. So today's question is to think about: What I can improve upon?

This is a great question that have me ponder of my newly developing habits and other area of My Life. As for motivation towards healthy life style such as eating clean and exercise are still very good at this point. As for my performance for in take of veggies & fruits ? I have started thinking am I eating enough? Or eating good quality and variety of them?

Since last September, when I started streaking on my weight loss and health journey, I am eating much more veggies then before, but more of salads. Cause easy for me to prepare. Normally I make garden style salad. I think I may have lacking in variety of veggies and quantities I eat and the way of eating it. I feels time to improve my veggies variation and learn how to eat it. As I am starting to getting boring of eat salads all the time. I think eating iceberg lettuce is not much nutrient then eating spinach or kale. I know some fact about veggies in my head, but its hard to practice. Also I need to learn how to prepare/cook them. How much to serve them. For me, foods serving size is an another part I need to improve upon. Especially, veggies serving portions are tricky.

Today, I had so much encouragement by reading our fellow SP friend GEMLADYONE ( Alie ) 's blog. Her determination of getting fruits and veggies are so diligent and inspiring. She also has some great idea to get more veggie into our daily diet. I am so proud of her and will take her advice and cutting up veggies in advance and keep variety of them in fridge all the time. ( thanks Alie. )

** My answer to: what can I improve upon?

* Find the way to get more variety of veggies and fruits in my fridge all the time.
* Learn how to eat them and learn serving size of foods general. Portion control.
* Strive to get better, try harder then yesterday for whatever I am doing today.

* We all can find something to improve and get better upon. Right?
So, shall we get going? C'mon... Let's get busy!!
Yes, we can improve ourself for our own good.
I am so glad, we are doing it together!! (*^^*)

emoticon for the blog! I've been trying to get more vegetables, too, but it goes slowly most of the time. I've had some success with vegetable soups. They're filling and I can throw all sorts of vegetables together into one. If I cook a big pot, they're already prepared for a few meals. I need some other tricks, though.

I believe in eating lots of coloured vegetables too. And I keep in mind G-BOMBS (Greens-Beans, Onions, Mushrooms (cooked), Berries, Seeds) as reminding me of the basic foods for good health. emoticon emoticon

I have found that when I have at least five servings of freggies a day plus 8 cups of water I am better able to handle my other issues (of which there are many) lol, keep on working towards your goal. You can do it!

Our guinea pigs and I eat a lot of fresh veggies. We have to make produce trips to the store every other day. I don't bother with iceberg at all, but I love romaine and red/green leaf. I have to set aside a chunk of time when I get home from the store, to wash and store produce. I find, if I do it right away, it's ready to go and I eat more of it.
Sounds like you're making some good plans!

Excellent Blog Mickey! I often use baby spinnich instead of lettuce in my salads and it is very nice. I never hardly use iceberg lettuce as it is nutrient dense like you said not much goodness in it. I normally use a Hydroponic lettuceif am using lettuce for my garden salad.

I have also made a salad consisting of hard boiled eggs and the long green beans cooked and cooled and I always add 1 or 2 cloves crushed garlic and thin slices of onion to my salad as they are very good for you. That's another way a salad can in corporate vegetables.

But I agree we all need to eat plenty of vegetables a variety of all the different coloured ones have different nutrients in them that we need.

Your blogs keep me very motivated to keep eating healthy, so keep them coming I love your daily blogs!
