Fitbit calorie range?

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

I love my toy. But, it is what consistently tells me to eat 850-1050 depending on my activity level. I so appreciate all the responses on my Stress... blog. I was stuck for such a long time and now am finally seeing that scale begin to reflect my healthy eating and exercise. I'm going out of town tomorrow for a week to help my mom celebrate her 99th. I don't know if I'll get to a place where I can connect with SP. have a great week everyone. And thanks so much.

Maybe disconnect the calorie count from your SP account and just enter exercise in the old fashioned way to get to more realistic food recommendations?
I find the Fitbit calorie count to be right on target, but you have to separate the total calories your body burns count provided by Fitbit, and your exercise-only calorie count which is what Sparkpeople bases its' recommendations on. I track my food on Fitbit and use the Calorie burn there as well, and it has been very helpful and helped me shed 14 pounds since I started with it 2 months ago. The community on SparkPeople is so fun, though, that I stay active on this site as well.

Happy birthday to you mom, and I hope you have a great time with your family!

Fitbit's calorie count is way too high for the activity I do.

    Enjoy this special weekend.
Wear your fitbit. It syncs for several days. You can come home and sync when you were gone.

Enjoy your time away and have fun with mom-a great occasion!
I don't use my fitbit for nutrition. Too much work to do it 2 places.

I still have not got one yet, and am so jealous, but have to read all articles on a fitbit, because it will happen
Happy Birthday to your Mother, enjoy

Happy Monumental birthday to your Mother. And have a great time, avoid the stress of the family issues as much as possible and enjoy your MOM! We'll see you when you get back. Be safe and have fun.

I am much bigger than you, I think (5'4/180lbs) and more active, I'm sure, but fitbit has me eating about 1700 calories a day to lose 1 lb a week (I wish!).
You need to check your settings or just ignore their range and stick to SP.
Happy birthday to your mom!
emoticon X 99!

I got the fb about a month ago and am enjoying it. But I feel that the calories number is completely off and I now ignore it.
