Turmeric for joint pain

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

I have been reading about this spice and the effects it has on joint pain. I first heard of this on a video I watched with David Wolfe - he has so much knowledge about natural foods, remedies, etc... so I ventrured out to the store where I could buy the organic version. I add this to my daily Green Drink, and I have to say, I believe it is really helping me.

Monday I had a very busy day and I can honestly say I did not feel the fatigue I usually feel by the end of the workday. I left my home @ 6:45am, returned for only an half hour to heat n' eat my dinner, then I was off to help my mother with things at assisted living and did not get home until 9:30pm. I still had quite a lot of energy and not much pain.

I am totally amazed at this. I am also going to try cardamom, since it is something I love. I found a chicken recipe on line @ sparkpeople that uses the spice. I also have a popcorn recipe which is made with almond butter, chopped almonds, and cardamom. I jazzed it up by melting dark chocolate and drizzling it over the top, cutting the squares and oh man is that ever good! Even my mother loved it!

I've seen this spice in my mothers cabinet for years but never knew what she used it for. Anyway, thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can find the organic version and try it in my green drink too! emoticon
