Depending on your age, my title could be calling up a number of totally different images.

To me, it's Jackie Gleason in his role as Ralph Kramden. When his wife Alice would zing him when he was cooking up one of his goofy schemes, he would utter those lines. Of course by the end of the show, when of course it turned out Alice was right, he would take her in his arms and tell her that she is the greatest.

If you're still reading this you're beginning to wonder what got my weird mind thinking about this. emoticon

On spark coach this morning, coach Nicole dared me to "push" myself. The challenge was to do 50 push ups today.

WTH? Wham, Boom, right to my kisser! Are you kidding Nicole? Don't you know how weak I am? And I'm sure you know that I've been streaking push ups, trying to build the number of push ups I can do. I mean really!

But, I am "mostly" an obedient child. I did my first set of push ups for my daily streak. 14 of em....yeah, to some of you that doesn't sound like much, but believe me....I'm improving!

A bit later when I was doing my cardio while listening to Sparkradio, I used my HR alerts to slow down as the trigger to drop and do push ups. 16, then another 14, then 12. By the time I finished my cardio, the challenge was not just met but exceeded!

Nicole, you pushed me to do something I didn't think I could do. Of course I am feeling it right now and tomorrow I suspect my daily push ups will be harder than usual with these sore muscles, but I guess you know me better than I know myself.

Baby.............You're the greatest! emoticon

    "One of these days, Alice....."

Ah, you can write your own ending to this statement. I do know that you are working hard to make "one of these days" happen ever sooner! Yea for you!

Awesome Donna! I guess sometimes we just have to let ourselves be pushed around or we won't recognize all that we can do. I hope today isn't too tough on your arms but, if it is, you'll get past it.

That's so wonderful. (even if you have a little date with Ben-Gay tomorrow) Well that inspires me to push myself a little further. Thanks for the push.

Wow, I'm impressed! See what you can do with a little egging on!
I recognize the actors name, but we never got a television until I was in the 8th grade, and viewing was strictly limited. As Steve and I began our family, I pushed for walks, swimming and socializing rather than TV. So I guess I missed a lot! Wish I'd have stuck to my guns when the children were older-some of that was not worth the electricity it took to run the TV.
