How do you feel about......

your gym serving pizza for dinner every Monday afternoon. I am just curious to hear other people's opinion on this. I go to Planet Fitness.... this past Monday it was either go to the gym at 4 pm or don't go at all.... It was a busy day! So I went at 4 and when I left at 5 pm, I saw a table set up for pizza. I was shocked because I am trying to be healthier. My self control was good because I was leaving :). But maybe more of a temptation if I had to workout with that smell the entire time. My gym does this every Monday afternoon...is this every Planet Fitness??

I go to Planet Fitness and they have pizza one Monday a month. They also serve bagel one morning a month I forget what day it is. But I think the reason they do this is because no food is bad in moderation. Heck the yhave tootsie rolls at the desk everyday. I love tootsie rolls but I walk away from them every time I go to the gym. You have to make the choices.

I had a membership for 3 years at Planet Fitness and it is a sabotage to it's members to have pizza and frequently. I moved to Canada and there is no such thing at gyms here.

Gee...I think that's a really bad idea on their part. Makes it so difficult for the people who go to that gym! In fact, I guess it strikes me as even a little sadistic, like they're trying to drum up more business by reminding people that there's a whole world of tempting food out there. The smell of pizza would really be tempting, to me - I wouldn't like that.

Oh I would hate that. As in I went the other day to my gym and someone had their older kids there and the kids decided, while they waited for mom/dad, to walk to the Culver's next door (if anyone isn't familiar they are famous for loading butter onto everything) and come back with the food and eat it in the front lobby area, about 10 feet from where my husband and I were working out. All i could smell was burger and fries and I was livid and hungry. I wanted to smack the parents.

Not a member there, but have plenty of friends that go. I must say I have never heard of this LOL. Just crazy. Even if its healthy type of pizza, still strange. Seems like they would have fruits or veggies if anything at all. All I can say is stay strong!! Fight the temptation!

I don't go to Planet Fitness and my gym hasn't done this or anything similar in the time I've been there. That's just wrong. I would be curious to know if it's like a healthy pizza - I know there's a pizza chain in my area that specializes in healthy pizza's can't think of the name right now. I would have to ask or make a comment to perhaps customer service. I mean some of us struggle just to get TO the gym. Now to fight pizza and we've just made it through a workout - Just make sure you're prepared every Monday to say NO!!! Have your healthy alternative before you go or ready when you're leaving. I would not avoid going just because it's there.

Maybe it's a contest like they have on Biggest Loser - Temptation Island (LOL)!!!

I don't go to Planet fitness, and unfortunately, I 've heard some not so nice anti- health statements about them, pizza being one of them....Our gym just has coffee and water, that's it.Glad you said no....is it the usual fare pizza, or a healthier and friendlier version? emoticon

That is the strangest thing I've ever heard! What are they thinking? Maybe it is a private party/conference? Whenever my gym has seminars they usually put out fruit, nuts, protein bar samples and some dark chocolate. I would avoid Monday nights for sure! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
