Me Time

The past few months have been a struggle for me health wise. Ive felt as if I had the flu almost constantly throughout winter and a stressful job didnt help things either. My rheumatologist thinks I may have fibromyalgia which would explain the fluish pains, waking up constantly during the night and exhaustion Ive felt lately. This is in addition to joint hypermobility syndrome which causes me back and joint pain. Im sick of being sick and Im ready to fight back and get myself back to full health. The mediation the pain clinic put me on made me gain weight rapidly so I feel like Im back to square one. However, Ive lost the weight before and I can do it again!

My contract in work has come to an end so I have more time to focus on me, time to cook and take walks. While I was working it was very difficult to get exercise. In the morning Id wake up stiff and just know I would do myself an injury if I attempted anything. By evening my knees would throb, my back would ache and I just felt like flopping onto the bed. Losing my job is a blessing in disguise as I can concentrate on my health.
My starting point daily plan:

Eat between 1,200 & 1,500 cals
Physio exercises every day
Eat home cooked meals no ready meals
5 portions of fruit and veggies
8 glasses of water

Simple and very achievable!

    Oh my!! I have been going through the same thing. I went to a rheumatologist and after many X-rays, loads of bood work and two MRI....he diagnosed it as fibro. I only take occasional Motrin, use moist heating pad and need a sleep aide t night. Just want to cry because I feel so physically limited. My friends tell me to eat better and exercise more...duh!
I used to run up stairs for exercise and now my legs are so weak I feel like they will collapse. Pain keeps moving Around my body. Luckily I am retired because I could not work like this. Shortness of breath sometimes. Went for an echocardiogram yesterday.
My apologies to those who only want to hear about food, calories, etc.
I eat 85% clean but just went gluten free and am limiting sugar to fruit. I have found really good recipes on Spark People and love the fruit smoothies. They curb my sweet tooth.
