My Progress

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

DH unfortunately did not do TAEBO with me yesterday. He forgot that he told me that he was going to do it with me yesterday and he did some running outside before I got home. I was disappointed, but I think that I am still going to have him do it with me. Maybe tomorrow. I want to do some running tonight. I think that I will aim for 5 miles. I don't want to overexert myself.

I did my Sparkpeople TOTAL BODY DVD last night. I did the beginner, 30 minute, routine. I felt like it was pretty moderate in intensity. It definitely wasn't as intense as the TAEBO. I am hoping to be able to get another session in later this week.

I am going to try to run outside later tonight, but I am not sure if it is going to rain. I like the idea of running outside, but I am a little apprehensive about running in the dark. I won't be able to go running until after 7pm. I think that I will try to find my clip on light and do my best.

I have wanted to walk/run at night but around here there are no sidewalks, no shoulder no the side of the road, and not many streetlights so I am leery about it. I have thought about getting some reflective clothing and a headlamp but people drive like maniacs around here and I am just so nervous about it. And there are skunks too, LOL! Let us know how it goes.

I use Knuckle Lights to run in the dark. You can't miss 'em! I also run without music to be sure I can hear any cars or people lurking about that I might not see right away. Be safe!

I run with a group early in the morning and we carry flashlights. I got brave enough to run in the dark in my neighborhood. Wasn't bad. Definitely is a help to have more hours available to run. If we are limited to daylight, it is a limit. Here's to limitless running!! -Marsha

Oh my goodness. I have to confess that I cringed when you said you wanted to run 5 miles. I assume it's only 5 miles because you didn't want to overexert yourself? Holy cow! I barely (slow) jog/walk upwards of 3 and I am beat at that point!

All I can say is you rock!

Just do everything to be SAFE if you run in the dark, like wear light colored clothing. If you don't have one, you could get one of those little battery operated flashers so drivers can see you. Around my place, there are coyotes at night, so I must stay to lighted areas. Some people say they won't approach a person, but if I walk my little dog after dark, i am rpetty sure they might risk it to eat her up as a snack!
