Cheesecake, Defeated!

Last night, C went to a fancy dinner thing for his job. This meant that I got to be lazy about dinner, because I didn't have to worry about cooking for him. So I microwaved one of those Steamfresh bags of broccoli, carrots and cauliflower with cheese sauce and then tossed in a serving of this low carb pasta. (Dreamfields - try it!) And then chopped up a chicken breast.

This gave me a huge serving of yummy pasta pseudo-primavera for about 490 calories, with three servings of veggies and very little fat to speak of. Loved it! Then, I kinda just loafed around and chatted on the 'net with my friend Aaron.

When C got home, he brought with him THREE small pieces of cheesecake. For me. hahaha Who brings three pieces of cheesecake to someone?! Ohhh, C. Anyway, I looked at the cheesecake, and at my calories for the day and decided that I had room for one piece.

I weighed it, tracked it and LOVED it! It was a good whipped cheesecake with a differenty kinda crust. Super good.

Then, I just... put the rest away. I wasn't even tempted to eat the other two pieces. But I realized, as I was making room in the fridge, that I once would have eaten all three pieces in a single sitting, without a second thought.

I still LOVE food, I still over-indulge from time to time, and I still have a love/hate relationship with the ol' brain container... but I have changed in many respects. I'm a healthier person able to instinctively make healthier choices.

And that feels great.

    What a victory! Those are the trickiest scenarios, when that item you LOVE suddenly falls into your lap unexpectedly! Look at your awesome control!

I am a little lucky when it comes to cheesecake because I don't like it, so that is one (of few!) desserts I can easily avoid! Now brownies, THAT'S another story!
