Healthy Habit #5: Saying “no thank you” to caloric beverages!

This has been my personal mantra for years. I love food too much to log high-calorie beverages in my nutritional tracker. As it is, when I cook, I cook big. On Christmas Day, a friend and I bulk cook eight different curries (each recipe quadrupled or more) for a dinner party and for freezing.

Coach Nicole writes about it as one of two tips to lose one pound per week in a video for SparkPeople. She says, “Don’t drink your calories” The link is live, not the photo.

I’ve pretty much given up soda pop as well, with the exception of one restaurant, Cici's Pizza Buffet, which I frequent about a dozen times a year:

In the past 100 days, I've averaged about one gallon of water a day (black coffee excluded). I continue to strive to live by the counsel, "Don't drink your calories," as well as "Fill half your plate with freggies."
