Planned day but unplanned social 'Dinner'

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to a Vietnamese restaurant. We experienced Thai food but never this new adventure of Vietnamese. I checked the menu online hours before our time to meet another couple. I STRONGLY SUGGEST ANYONE WITH AN OPEN MIND FIND A REASONABLE PRICED VIETNAMESE PLACE TO EAT. BE SURE TO MAKE SURE THE PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND THE REPUTATION IS WELL KNOWN. Fortunately the other couple was very familiar with this restaurant and their credibility. VIETNAMESE MENU'S CAN BE VERY VERY HEALTHY WITH VERY FRESH VEGETABLES AND TASTY SAUCES (which can be ordered sometimes on the side) ALONG WITH VERY TASTY MEATS AND FISH. We must have ordered a total of 4 appetizers and 5 entrees between 4 adults and 2 small children. What a wonderful experience that was. The food was not 'heavy' and had Satiety. BUT I know that I consumed more than my banked nutrition for the day. Now...after coming home and entering all the food I 'tasted' in small portions I really was within my daily caloric range!!!! The moral of the story...I can go out to dinner, at a new restaurant, be adventurous, and be a TASTER vs. a huge EATER.

Congrats on passing a test at a new restaurant! That isn't always so easy to do for most people. Sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on what you're doing with your diet.
