Current Moods & Issues

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

I've decided I'm not going to work today. My regular doctor has same-day appointments this morning, so I'm going to go and see him. I've been finding that my moods are all over the place (crazy roller coaster), and I'm having trouble with sleep (I'm always tired, regardless of the amount of sleep I get, and will often sleep for 2-3 hours, then be wide awake for 2 hours in the middle of the night). I also have a crazy dry mouth and am thirsty all the time, even when I'm getting my 8+ glasses of water per day.

I'm on medication for depression, and we increased the dose in January. I think I have 2 different kinds of depression: a low-level year-round depression AND seasonal affect disorder. My depression is substancially worse November - March. I saw on my calendar that we change the clocks in a week and I was euphoric about this!

OMG! Thanks for the clock reminder! I never know what is going on from day to day, so I usually find out about 2 days after that we should have changed the clocks. And I wonder why I am always running behind the ball!

I hope the doc has some good news for you. I am getting ready to set up and get updated meds myself. I can't wait to feel almost normal again!

See if you are low on Vitamin D...it really helped me in December. It takes a couple of weeks to see a difference. Also, omega 3 fish oil is helpful in getting cells where they need to be. Good luck!

You can drink more water for the dry mouth and candy helps sometimes too. Unfortunately antidepressants can also cause sleep problems. I can empathize with you about the seasonal. I can't wait for summer.
