I tend to develop abnormal attachment to things, which means I have trouble giving some things away that long ago should have moved on to the hands of others. I rarely get excited about new clothes. They need to be worn so I have memories that match the outfit. I do not get excited about going shopping, trying things on, and so forth.
Probably a month or so ago, early into the C25K training, I decided to invest in some new workout stuff. Two pairs of black leggings. Two grey t-shirts with some sort of fancy technology to make them workout gear and not just fashion. Running shoes. A belt to carry my phone and epi-pen (and a water bottle).
Last night, I wore them (not the belt since I was in the house and I decided that was my C25K "graduation" gift to myself if I made the 9 weeks). I looked cool. I wore them outside to a quick trip to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. I felt healthier than I did wearing my baggy 'ole workout pants with the elastic starting to peep through the waist band and my oversize t-shirt.
Honestly, this is the first time I feel like I've made progress. I like it!
