I went to China and I bought...

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

Panda earrings

Rose earrings

A teeny tiny hair clip

A scarf

A dress (flipping XXXL.)

A traditional tea ceremony set

A mug for loose leaf tea.

Chinese sweets. At least, I think they're sweets. It's all in Chinese.

Fat panda!

Lychee tea, jasmine tea, pu-erh tea, and ginseng oolong tea.

A painting of Winter Flowers. Flowers symbolise a beautiful woman, but these flowers (because they bloom in Winter) also stand for a strong-willed, independent woman.

So now you see why I feel so poor! I also bought presents for my friends and family, but if I uploaded those I'd be here all day.

The Chinese sizes must start with a S being the equivalent of a size 2 - in toddlers! You made some beautiful choices in your souvenirs!

You got lots of Oriental things. There are few panda items.
I can't see the writings on the "sweets". So, I can't tell what they are exactly.
Love the dress and painting though. Hope you enjoy the tea while drinking them from your new tea cup/set.

I love seeing your photos. We went to China a few years ago. I had bought 2 of the jackets, they were just a little small on me. But now that I have lost weight I can wear them. Wish I had gotten one of the dresses then, but did not.

The clothing in China is bigger than the clothing in Thailand. I was in Thailand with a size 2 friend, and she was buying XXL clothing. On the plus side, in pretty much all of Asia, the norm is to have everything made for you. I have a couple beautiful tops I had made in Thailand that are now too big. When I get to my goal weight I may have to have them re-cut.

I love your fat panda!

Fat panda is too adorable! I have a fat cat stuffed animal that I love to pieces, too. Many years ago, I went to Chinatown in San Francisco and I wanted a traditional Chinese silk shirt. It was the shirt version of your dress, no sleeves, and purple. I'm pretty sure mine was also a XXXL. Talk about sadness! I felt so defeated and, well, FAT buying that shirt. I cut the tag out of it immediately so I wouldn't have that big, ugly XXXL staring me in the face whenever I wore it.
