THIS ONE THING I DO; FORGETTING WHAT LIES BEHIND AND STRAINING FORWARD TO WHAT LIES AHEAD, I PRESS ON TOWARD THE GOAL FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HEAVENLY CALL OF GOD. PHILIPPIANS 3:13-14.
I USED TO BELIEVE THAT THE FAILURES OF YESTERDAY WOULD HAUNT ME FOREVER, LORD. BUT IN YOUR MERCY, YOU HAVE GIVEN ME THE GIFT OF A WONDERFUL TODAY AND A HOPEFUL TOMORROW. THANK YOU FOR SECOND CHANCES, FOR CLEAN SLATES, FOR NEW OPPORTUNITIES, AND FOR LESSONS LEARNED. WHEN I SEE OTHERS WHO SUFFER FROM THE PAIN OF THE PAST, LET ME BE A MINISTER OF MERCY, ENCOURAGING THEM TO LEAVE BEHIND THEIR MISTAKES AND TO WALK WITH PEACE AND CONFIDENCE TOWARD THE FUTURE.
WE HAVE TO DO WITH THE PAST ONLY AS WE CAN MAKE IT USEFUL TO THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE.------------FREDERICK DOUGLAS
How true this devotion is. If we dwell on the past, it will take up all the blessings God was going to send us. There is no room for yesterday's worries and today's blessing. We should make a choice and move toward the present and future.
