Day by day is a great way to go! So far my desire to develop my fitness activity has gone well. I don't expect as much out of myself as I used to, thereby releasing alot of unnecessary stress I often placed on myself. I follow the fitness guidelines set up by sparkpeople, working towards the calories listed on my fitness page. By doing this, as long as I do the work, the math takes care of itself. If my body doesn't cooperate, as happens sometimes, at least I know I've done my part! So far, so good. I'll check back often-it helps me stay accountable!
Great attitude! I had to do that with myself as well at one point. Taking a step back and starting with baby steps is the best way for long term success in my opinion. And yes, just doing your part and staying consistent is all you need to do.
