My Holy Grail

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

Today’s assignment from SP Coach; Start your own weekly blog series that documents your journey to a specific goal.

Merriam-Webster states the definition of a holy grail is a goal that is sought after for its great significance.

We all want to be at a healthy weight. But, something has been haunting me over the last 6 months. I’ve come to the conclusion that I simply want more. I want … to be fit. Unfortunately, healthy weight does NOT necessarily mean you are fit.

To be truly fit.

I don’t want to be satisfied with meeting the average standards. I am already in better shape than I have been in years, not necessarily thinner but definitely more fit. I recently went on a 1 mile walk that had more than 25 floors of steps and I did it 2.5 times. Not any of my closest friends could do that. I am not that special, and I know I can do more.

There are many sources that define true FITness. Over the next weeks and months I am going to blog my findings and try to formulate a plan to implement them.

Thanks for sharing. Both hubby and I are on that same road to FITness. We currently have a gym membership (winter is TOO darned cold) but incorporate things like downhill skiing, cross country skiing (see profile pic), snow shoeing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and scuba diving are some of the many things we've started including into our repetoire of things to do. Believe me it NEVER used to be this way and it has been such a rush. Enjoy your FITness whatever it happens to be!!

Sounds like a fabulous idea. Thanks for sharing it. I will definitely be following something along those lines myself - I have a LONG LONG way to go to get to that place, but if I keep taking the steps necessary to get there, I WILL one day be FIT too.

I like your thinking - thanks for sharing some ideas here.
I am well over-weight but, until the past few months I have been pretty fit.
I am now starting to try to re-build my fitness.
