Today my question is how am I doing day to day.

Well, since I only have to rest on 1 day and today was the day, I am doing good so far. I am still getting steps in, but I did not go to the gym and they are walking steps and not running steps.

As for in GENERAL, I am not doing very well. My friends and I have been going out more and I have been getting kind of lax when I go out. The scale is not going the right direction at all. I need to rein back the fun a little I think. At least when it comes to food. I am not worried that much about it. I mean I need to have some fun, and I will get back in track. Already back on for today.

Okay off for a walk with the dog for my active recovery day.

    How about this? Let's REFRAME the fun! How about planning the next social outing as a nature walk, a cooking night (everyone has to come up with a new recipe from a bag of ingredients YOU provide - this one has the extra bonus of being hilarious when people pick out their "mystery" ingredient), a game of tag, charades, go dancing, have a bonfire and tell stories, or basically anything that encourages togetherness and laughter, and shifts the focus AWAY from those oh-so-tempting choices you would rather avoid.

    My goodness. Rein in fun. Perish the thought!

    You can do it! I agree it is tough with friends but think about doing something else besides things focused on food. I have found my friends are excited to walk and exercise.

    It is so hard to strike that balance and figure out what works. Keep on keepin' on and you'll get to where you know exactly when to be strict and when to loosen up a little :)

    One step at a time. When I go out with friends I try to visualize myself doing the healthy thing--like not going for the bread basket, or drinking a tall glass of water before eating, or ordering the healthy meal. Little steps--small efforts here and there--do add up. So keep on Sparking!

    It sucks but I have come to the same conclusion. I love my friends, love going out, love having fun but when I know the focus is going to be food and drink, I need to say no at least some of the time. Whether I say no to the invitation or just no to the food and drink depends on my mood and whether I think I can actually control my intake in the given situation. emoticon
